We cooked red bean soup with a mixture of mini and sesame-filled tang yuan (sweet rice balls) with a hint of orange zest for about a hundred attendees. Hope you enjoyed our homemade-with-love dessert!

TSA returned to dance up the stage at the Fall Fest Variety show! We first performed aboriginal dance at Culture X last semester and were invited to perform again this fall. CLICK to see a video of our performance! A big thanks to our always-fantastic choreographer Anita Kao and participants who worked hard to make our performance as awesome as it was the first time around! :)
Last night, we kicked off our biggest event of the year: Nightmarket!! TSA collaborated with 6 other clubs - BAASA, KSA, BC3, SASA, SEAC, JSA - to host games and serve unique cultural dishes to more than 400 attendees! While TSA made fried rice with sausage, scallion pancakes, tang hulu, wintermelon tea, and boba tea (drooling yet?) thanks to our fantastic collaborators, you could also find dishes ranging from Japanese curry rice to samosas to crab rangoons, and more. Food aside, games ranged from TSA's chopstick race/competition to BAASA's cookie game. Attendees earned tickets from playing games and could exchange those tickets for delicious food. Click HERE to check out the full photo gallery. TSA extends a huge THANK YOU to our collaborating clubs as well as our awesome volunteers this year: Jaime Parra, Yu Dai, Yirong Wang, Iris Lee, Ramona Wang, Victor Zhu, Aaron Yang, Alexis Perry, Alina Cheema, Sarah Chiang, Yuan Keng Ling.
A big thanks for everyone who came to help out, have fun, and make Night Market a huge success! :) Our first general meeting of the year took place at the ICC, where we introduced everyone to our new eboard, our upcoming events, and to Taiwan of course! To give everyone "a taste of Taiwan", we cooked up scallion pancakes, milk tea with boba, and wintermelon tea. We also set up food and games to allude to our future events: Mahjong (Mahjong Night event!) and graham crackers/nutella/marshallows (Taipei 101 Gingerbread event!). We also showed a FANTASTIC video of Taiwan, created by our co-pres Jes Lin, showcasing all its beauty, wonders, and CATS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuhinGoiRzY We had so much fun meeting everyone, playing telephone charades, eating good food, and more!
We hope you enjoyed your taste of Taiwan - from delicious boba to cats in bags - so don't forget to mark your calenders for our future events. Hope to see you again! :D TSA joined other cultural clubs at BAASA's Pan Asia Night for a fun and food-filled night in the SCC! We served up scallion pancakes and milk tea with boba to more than a hundred students.
Welcome to another year! Taiwanese Student Association kicked off a new semester at the 3rd Annual ICC Mixer on August 28. Things got a little crazy at the Activities Fair on September 2nd, but we hope you managed to find us in the crowd. (Look for the beautiful waving flag!)
Today at the Intercultural Senior Banquet, TSA was awarded the 2012-2013 RISING STAR AWARD! Hurray! And congrats to Eric Lin for being awarded best ICC representative! We could not have done it without a wonderful team this year :D
Our eboard members came in early to start shaving ice, cutting mangos and preparing dumplings. A great turn out for a Tuesday night in the ICC Lounge :) We showed YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE while serving shaved iced topped with mango, condensed milk and ice cream as well as dumplings. Thank you so much for all those who joined us tonight and those who supported us throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you at our future events :D
We were all scared about the idea and the commitment at first...but we pulled through and put on a FANTASTIC and AMAZING performance. Mmm~ The many Tuesday Night practices we had led us to a great performance at Culture X this year. We not only put TSA out there, but many of us who aren't exactly performers also put ourselves out there. It was all intense but great fun. Moreover, without our amazing choreographer/activities co-coordinator, we would've never looked as good as we did - costume wise and choreographically. THANK YOU ANITA KAO <3 We appreciate all the effort you put into this dance and WE LOVE YOU!! Andddd! A special shout out to those who decided to join on us on this exciting journey to Culture X~ JAIME, DORA, CHARLENE Check out the recorded performance on our facebook page!!
A nice day out today for AROUND THE WORLD EVENT! Hosted by the ICC reps and took place on the Great Lawn. A lot of people headed towards our booth to challenge/play around with their calligraphy skills and enjoy a nice cup of iced boba milk tea.
