This year, four Eboard members attended the ITASA Conference in New York City. The theme this year was "Igniting Infinite Possibilities" and took place on the top floor of Hotel Pennsylvania (Feb 14-17). There were around 200 plus students from schools all around the East Coast and a few who traveled from the mid-west and west coast. We were very glad to be a part of this great event and spend our weekend in the great city! There were lots of workshops (with lots of alums who were involved in ITASA), ice breakers, mingling/networking and exploring of the city.
I had a great time at ITASA meeting and having fun with other people from Taiwanese Student groups all over the country. We were able to make great connections with Taiwanese student groups from nearby colleges and look forward to strengthening our intercollegiate relations - Aaron Yang '14
ITASA definitely brought Brandeis' eboard a lot closer together. The workshops were enlightening and really made me realize how proud I should be to be Taiwanese—I seriously had no idea how prominent we are in various industries! Branching out was definitely a plus, but I gotta say... the highlight of the trip would be just having the opportunity to explore an unfamiliar city late at night with my peers and simply bonding in our hotel rooms while munching on NYC’s infamous chicken over rice. - Jes Lin '15
ITASA has been an amazing experience to connect with other Taiwanese Student Associations. Also, Brandeis TSA bonded closer through exploring the city. Besides the socializing aspects, many speakers also gave interesting talks on topics ranging from social justice to starting businesses. Overall, NYC is a very dynamic city full of new energy and wonderful adventures! - Eric Lin '16
