We discovered that each school has their individual system of organizing events and meetings due to the varying number of members. We also skyped the West Coast ITASA Leadership retreat.
On Saturday, a few of us Eboard members headed to Boston University at 11AM for a whole day of ITASA (Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Student Association) Leadership Retreat. There were lots of ice breakers and group discussion games.

Our big event of the year was a blast! Nothing more exciting than blasting party/Taiwanese music in the Brandeis ICC patio area with tons of free food and games for students to experience a little bit of a Taiwanese Night Market ambiance! Popular go-to treats seemed to be: boba milk tea and tang hu lu (sugar coated fruit). TSA also prepared scallion pancakes, tea leaf eggs and shaved ice. ---THANK YOU---
A shout out to the clubs who brought their energy to the night market and made this event a success: -BAASA for your delicious hand-made crab rangoons and cookie racing game! -JSA for your cute fishing balloon game and dango! -SASA for your hot and spicy samosas and pin-the-bindi! -BC3 for your variety of dim sum treats and bottle ring toss! -SEAC for your Pisang Goreng/fried plantanes and candy! Also THANK YOU to those who volunteered through TSA to spend their Friday to help prep in the kitchen and work during the event: -Jesse Lee -Iris Lee -Yue Yee -Wei Yee -Qianran Yang The Eboard gathered together at 9PM to make some lantern posters for the night market. These will be put up around campus soon :D
PONGG! Our first official event of the year! MAHJONG NIGHT! The Eboard prepped some Tang Hu Lu (sugar coated strawberries and cherry tomatoes) and hot tea for the attendees. Left over sugar was used to make some traditional lollipops. We had a range of beginner to advanced mahjong players who attended. It was great to see the experienced helping the beginners and many people asked if there would be another night for mahjong (PERHAPS!).
Around twenty to thirty people showed up tonight! We started off by introducing the Eboard, went around the room introducing individuals and playing some telephone charades. Lastly, everyone helped themselves to some milk tea or hot tea and, of course, scallion pancakes! One of our dear presidents serving hot lemon tea! Nice shirt :)
Ready for T S A!!!!!
Today was labor day but it was also Brandeis' club fair day! Everyone gathered at Brandeis' great lawn on this sunny day to see some performances and sign up for clubs. Our booth was between SEAC and So Unique Step Team. We passed out some pineapple cakes and crackers to those who passed by. |
